Families connect through play at Family Fun Night

Osseo Area Schools’ Community Education’s Early Childhood & Family Education (EC&FE) program gathered March 6 at Arbor View and Willow Lane Early Childhood Center for a night of quality time together, while building connections with other families in the community.

The event brought smiles and laughter as families engaged in a variety of activities designed for children from birth to age five. From ooey, gooey slime to interactive games, the experiences showcased that learning happens best through play and meaningful interaction. At Willow Lane Early Childhood Center, a meal was catered from a local restaurant, Oga Madam Kitchen giving parents a chance to relax and enjoy a meal together.

"What made this night so special was seeing families truly engage with one another," said Lisa Helgestad, program assistant. "In our busy world, it's rare to have dedicated time just for family connection. Watching parents fully participate in activities with their children was the highlight of the evening for our staff." she continued.

This event was supported by dedicated staff, volunteers and Helping Us Grow (HUG). Many families in attendance expressed interest in future events, with several first-time attendees asking about how to participate in more program opportunities. To learn more, visit ce.district279.org/ecfe
