STEM Magnet Program
Finding the scientist in you
Inquiry-based, hands-on learning
At Weaver Lake Elementary: A Science, Math & Technology School, students find the scientists in themselves through simulation, exploration and discovery. Our rigorous STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) curriculum is aligned with both state and national standards, and the use of innovative instructional strategies is evident in every classroom.
Weaver Lake scholars at all grade levels engage in value-added projects that are real world investigations with practical applications and achievable outcomes. Our educators use hands-on experiences, problem solving and other techniques to personalize learning for each child.
Beyond the classroom
At Weaver Lake, learning extends beyond the traditional classroom. Our two outdoor classrooms, a student-planted prairie and close proximity to a nature center provide exceptional opportunities for students to explore, investigate and discover. Students also stay engaged in learning through schoolwide events such as a STEM in Action Fair and Family Engineering Night.
Apply for enrollment
Weaver Lake Elementary is a member of the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD) magnet school program, which includes seven area school districts in the northwest metro. Families with children interested in attending Weaver Lake should submit an application through NWSISD; the first priority deadline is Dec. 31.
